Why St. John the Baptist?

Dear Future Families:

Greetings from St John the Baptist Catholic School!  We are proud of our school and happy to introduce to you the wonderful opportunities we can provide to you and your children.  We know that you value a Catholic Education.  Values that are taught at home are the same values that our faculty and staff provide, serving boys and girls from age 3 through 6th grade.  With God, we provide the foundation for your children to become Christian people, upright citizens and academic scholars.

No matter your child’s current age or grade, St. John the Baptist School is committed to preparing them for lifelong success. But with so many choices out there, how do you know St. Johns is the right place for you?

Why choose St. John’s…

-your child is special.  Every child is a beautiful child of God with the gifts and talents that God has given to them.  At St. Johns, we work to ensure the confidence that a child needs to be successful and to bring out the very best of each child.  Some things you might find about us to be distinctive:  we are Catholic, we are co-educational, our teacher to student ratio is 13:1 and we are accredited by the Middle States Association, just to name a few.  St. Johns is a true gem in Southern York County, PA and we believe every child to be a gem as well.

– Your child will be engaged.  At St. Johns, your child will be invited to be an active and engaged participant in their education. They will get every opportunity to learn critical thinking skills through collaborative discussion, scientific inquiry through our Science and STEM projects and plenty of opportunities for creativity through our specials and after school clubs.  We expect our students to make good choices as they mature and develop their own learning styles.

-We offer something for everyone.  St Johns offers a variety of classes to stimulate your child both intellectually and physically.  In addition to our regular curriculum, we offer weekly classes in PE, Art, Technology, Music, Library and Spanish, all of which contribute to the formation of a well-rounded child.  We still teach cursive writing here at St. Johns.  We help build on your child’s strengths, and know you will find what you’re looking for at St. Johns.

– We have service projects.  As a Catholic student, your child’s experience at St. Johns will strengthen his or her relationship to God and deepen their understanding of their faith.  We attend weekly Mass together participating as altar servers, gift bearers or even sing in the choir.  We have service projects unique to each grade level.  We accept children of all faiths as we introduce them to our Church’s history, theology and moral teachings.  All are welcome at St. Johns: especially those who are willing to share their gifts in service to others in need.

Let us help you in making the best decision for your child’s education.  We understand it might be a financial sacrifice to send your child to a private school and will work with you to determine if this is the right choice for your family and their educational needs.

Some things to think about when choosing a school:

– Is this the right fit for my child and our family? – Is the education challenging enough or provide enough support for my child’s learning needs? – Are they having fun while learning new things?

Yes, fun is important at St. John the Baptist School!  “Joy is a sign of generosity.  When you are full of joy, you move faster and you want to go about doing good to everyone.” ― Mother Teresa, The Joy in Loving: A Guide to Daily Living

So, let your child be joyful!  And do everything they dream of doing while finding themselves in the process.  We hope you decide to have your child join us here at St. Johns to begin their journey to a bright future.
